Slide 16 - THE PROSPECTOR |
Description |
"Mining is the second most important industry in Montana. Since the first gold nuggets were discovered in Gold Creek in 1858, the prospector has played a romantic and adventurous part in the history and development of Montana. The lure of gold has brought many a hardy pioneer to the state. Not all of them were enriched by gold, but the prospecting spirit led to the discovery and exploration of many valleys that were useful for other purposes." |
