Nyhavn is perhaps the most iconic part of Copenhagen. The harbor is the place where Danes go to be hyggligt with friends and family. The word “hyggeligt” does not translate directly into English, but it essentially means to be cozy. For Danes, this usually requires a warm drink or a cold beer, good friends and lots of candles. The colorful buildings that line the harbor are mostly cafés that date back to the 17th and early 18th century. This photo was taken on one of the first nice spring days and was full of people soaking up the sun after what seemed like a never-ending winter.
